‘Madame Web’ review: The future is bleak

This clairvoyant superhero origin story starring Dakota Johnson is a failure in just about every way. Yet another superhero (albeit a small-time one) and yet another origin story. This time we follow Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Webb (what an unimaginative last name) as she discovers her superpower and purpose in the world.

Kiran Rao on ‘Laapataa Ladies’: ‘Comedy disarms and charms you, as opposed to talking down to you’

Back in the director’s chair after ‘Dhobi Ghat’ (2010), Kiran Rao is raring to go.

Fourteen years after her feature debut Dhobi Ghat, Kiran Rao is back with Laapataa Ladies. The delightful satire about the coming of age of two young brides who accidentally get swapped on an Indian train is based on a story by Biplab Goswami.

What Surily Goel Did Next

At 22, designer Surily Goel had marriage and kids in mind, but life had different plans—two decades later, she continues to build the “Surily Original”.

Surily Goel has taken what began as a whim, an excuse to go abroad to study, without any game plan or ambition, into a successful fashion label. Since she launched her eponymous label in 2003, tassels, sequins, shells, mirrors, vibrant colours, lace, geometric patterns and flowing fabrics have defined a ‘Surily’ original.
